About Us

Inspired by Japanese “Kissa” culture and the historic “Hot Club” listening sessions in France, our mission is to create and operate an intentional listening room dedicated to music education, preservation, and appreciation. We aim to offer a space where the public can gather to listen, as a community, to Jazz, Blues, Folk, and the many music genres rooted in these traditions.

Step 1   ☑︎   Form  the "Cool Note Foundation" as a non-profit corporation structure.

Step 2   ☑︎  Obtain  501(c)(3) status.

Step 3  ◻ Promote the Foundation, and Seek Locations for Popup events

Step 4  ◻ Run popup events and fund raise

Step 5  ◻ Establish a permanent location

Step 6  ◻ Make the Cool Note Foundation self supportive and perpetual. 

Step 7  ◻ Expand to a second location?

The Cool Note Foundation is NOT a traditional business. It is NOT about earnings and profits. This Foundation is volunteer run. It is all about the Music. Cool Note is for the public. Because Cool Note Foundation is NOT a bar, restaurant, or a store, the operating expenses will primarily be covered with small public donations. At some point in the future, we may seek Grants and larger donations to help fund a permanent location. 

Cool Note Foundation is a Washington State non-profit corporation and holds 501(c)(3) status. 

Soon, a donation button will appear on this site for anyone willing to make a small contribution to our cause. 

We will also be looking to grow a library of physical media (Records and CDs) of Jazz, Blues, Folk and the Music inspired by those Genres.  In addition to tunes for the room, we will be keeping an eye out for HiFi gear worthy of a listening room playing great music. If you would like your music or gear to have a second life with us... to be shared with the public, please consider donating.
